Boracay is a place of beautiful beaches and sunsets enjoyable at all times of the year. In Boracay, as with much of Southeast Asia, there are only two seasons: wet and dry.
Lasting from September to May, the dry season is considered peak tourist season in Boracay. The temperature is relatively moderate (ranging from about 75 degrees F to 90 degrees F) with little to no rainfall. Light winds come in from the east, creating a cooling breeze on the beach. If you're into scuba diving, be sure to book yourself accommodations on the west side of the island. If you're not looking to spend a lot of money, you should avoid the super peak season during the Christmas holidays and Holy Week as prices skyrocket. If you're traveling with family, it's probably best to avoid March, April and May, the prime party season. Perhaps the best weather occurs in October, November and December, creating a good environment for families traveling with children, though it does tend to be busy.
June, July and August are considered the off-season in Boracay. Heavy and frequent tropical storms put a halt to a lot of activities. The weather is hot and humid with temperatures getting up to 100 degrees F and dropping below 68 degrees F during the tropical storms. If you venture out to the island this time of year, remember that it can be relatively calmer on the east side, as the winds come in from the west. Although not as pretty this time of year, beach-side restaurants and shops tend to batten down the hatches with plastic and bamboo barriers. Tthere will still be plenty to do if you're willing to wait for the gaps in the weather. Furthermore, budget travelers will love the drop in prices. Hotels are generally 25 percent cheaper, as are flights from Manila.
Regardless of when you choose to visit this island paradise has something for everyone. Even during the peak season, when parties are plentiful and last to the wee hours of the morning, there are still secluded areas to be scouted out and enjoyed. During the off-season there are still fun events such as kite-surfing to be enjoyed. In such a beautiful place, it's easy to make the most of the weather.
